Maine Bureau of Insurance Begins Summer Outreach Initiative

Consumer Assistance Program Starts Monday in York County, with Other Sessions Planned for Androscoggin, Piscataquis, Hancock and Kennebec Counties

AUGUSTA, MAINE –  Superintendent of Insurance Mila Kofman announced on Friday that the Bureau of Insurance’s Summer Consumer Outreach Program begins next week in Kittery.  The outreach event is intended to help Maine people with their insurance cases and to raise awareness about the Bureau’s resources.

Superintendent Kofman invites the public and media to join Bureau staff at upcoming sessions in Kittery, Lewiston, Greenville, Ellsworth and Waterville.  Previous outreach events have been held in Presque Isle, Bangor, Portland, Farmington and Madawaska.  Consumers may also obtain information by visiting the Bureau or its website, www.maine.gov/insurance.

All outreach sessions will take place from 5–7 p.m.  They include an overview of the Bureau’s services and ample time for questions.  Additionally, staff members assist individual consumers with their specific cases.  Dates and location are listed below.
